As the year comes to a close, the Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch Program Society Board of Directors and Staff extend our warmest gratitude to you. Your support, collaboration, and commitment have played an important role in strengthening community safety and connection across Edmonton.
This season is a time to reflect on the collective efforts that make our neighbourhoods more resilient, informed, and connected. Your engagement helps us continue building safer and more vibrant communities, and we look forward to our continued work together in the coming year.
As the holidays can also bring an increase in scams and theft, we encourage you to review and share the safety reminders below.
Here are some holiday safety tips.

Beware of Online Shopping Scams: Watch for unrealistic discounts, requests for e-transfers or gift cards, missing tracking information, or unfamiliar retailers, especially through social media ads.

Stay Alert to Fraud, Phishing, and Identity Scams: Investment scams, fake tech-support calls, delivery-delay texts, and AI-generated messages or voices are increasing. Avoid clicking unknown links or giving remote access to your devices.

Protect Yourself When Shopping In-Person: Keep purchases out of sight, avoid leaving items in vehicles between stops, park in visible areas, and stay aware in parking lots.

Secure Deliveries and Protect Your Home: Use pickup lockers or trusted neighbours for deliveries, bring parcels inside promptly, and secure all doors, garages, and parkade gates.

Use Caution With Payments and Technology: Purchase only from trusted retailers, use credit cards for fraud protection, enable two-factor authentication, and avoid scanning unfamiliar QR codes.

Report Crime and Suspicious Activity Promptly: Report scams, suspicious behaviour, or property concerns to the Edmonton Police Service and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
