Program Goals
Listen to Youth Voices
We aim to understand how youth perceive safety in their neighbourhoods. Their opinions and experiences matter, and we want to create a platform for them to share their thoughts.
Be Proactive
The program encourages youth to actively participate in crime prevention by sharing insights and ideas on how to make their communities safer.
Program Steps
Surveys
We’ll distribute surveys to learn about the key concerns youth have regarding safety in their communities. These surveys will be accessible through QR codes at events, schools, community centres, libraries, and recreation centres. Your feedback will help us understand the critical issues affecting youth today.
Forums
We’ll host forums where youth from various schools and organizations can openly discuss their views on safety—without the presence of law enforcement. This is your chance to speak freely and be heard.
“What We Heard” Report
After collecting feedback from the surveys and forums, we’ll compile a “What We Heard” report. This report will summarize the opinions shared and will be distributed to everyone involved.
Second Forum
We’ll host a second forum where representatives from each youth group will review our report and provide additional feedback. Your input will help refine our findings.
Final Report
We’ll publish a comprehensive final report that includes all our findings and insights from the program. This report will be a valuable resource for understanding youth perspectives on crime.
